Inward Swinging  |  Outward Swinging  |  HInge Cutting  |  Dead Bolt Cutting  |  Drop Bar Bolt Cutting  |  Padlock Cutting/Breaking

As firefighters we have to be ready for every possible situation. We have all been at an incident where something just wasn't working so we went to Plan B. Forcible entry is no different. We always start with checking to see if the door is open. Try before you pry. And we continue to use techniques from easiest to more complex. A hinge cut will many times be our last resort effort. When you cut the hinges from a door, you have effectively lost door control in most instances.

The Inforcer has a hinge cutting station that allows firefighters to practice cutting an actual hinge. Another benefit is that firefighters are getting practice using a cut-off saw in a realistic evolution. Many firefighters we talk to say that they do not get enough training with the cut-off saw to feel comfortable. The hinge cutting station allows firefighters to cut hinges at 3 different levels by simply moving the station.

On this simulator, the hinge cutting station is on the inward swinging side to allow more room. See hinge cutting station design below.
